It’s almost September, and yes, we can’t believe it either. But as the shorter days of fall approach, so too does plenty of autumn fun in Washington.

The apple harvest hits its peak in the late summer and early fall months, making it a great time to sample the region’s many varieties. The state is the largest apple producer in the entire country, producing about 42% of apples grown in the U.S.
