Katy Perry will be honored by MTV with this year’s VMAs Video Vanguard Award, the network announced Thursday, with the singer also set for a performance slot on the Sept. 11 Video Music Awards telecast.
She’s set to perform some of her greatest hits — with her new single, “Lifetimes,” which came out last week, likely to be part of any medley. Her high-profile appearance will come nine days before Perry releases her new album, “143,” on Sept. 20.
Perry’s appearance will mark her first time on the show since 2017, when she collaborated with Nicki Minaj for that telecast’s finale.
