Flowers Foods Inc. will acquire the majority of Hostess’ bread brands and bakery operations, pending bankruptcy court approval, the Toledo Blade reports. Thomasville, Ga.-based Flowers’ (NYSE:FLO) $360 million stalking horse bid won without facing any other bids at auction. The deal includes the Wonder, Butternut, Home Pride, Merita and Nature’s Pride brands, as well as 20 bread plants and 38 depots, including several around Ohio.
