Washington State Senator Joe Nguyen launched his campaign for King County executive Tuesday morning, posing a challenge to the seat that Dow Constantine has held for nearly 12 years.
Born in White Center to Vietnamese immigrants fleeing the war, Nguyen has been a resident of King County his whole life and hopes to forge a “new deal” for the region that will address inequities.
“Politics should be about people, not careers, and it’s increasingly clear that governments run by transactional politicians do not serve communities,” Nguyen said.
