SEATTLE — A man accused of setting fire to a Pride flag and stuffing it into a Buddha statue with feces on it outside a Seattle elementary school was charged with a hate crime.
The man was charged March 24 with a hate crime and second-degree malicious mischief.
His arraignment hearing was set for Monday, but he did not enter a plea because his attorney raised a question of competency, so that will be addressed first. Bail was set at $30,000, which was what prosecutors requested, arguing the man
