REDMOND, Wash. — Microsoft is marking its 50th anniversary by giving back to the community in a big way. 

As part of its “50 for 50” program, the tech giant surprised 50 organizations with unexpected $50,000 grants, totaling $2.5 million in philanthropic giving.

Jane Broom, the senior director of Microsoft Philanthropies, recently discussed the company’s philanthropic efforts with KING 5 and the impact they’ve had on western Washington and beyond.
