Seattle man dies on slopes at 74, family recalls passion for skiing

Separate skiing accidents claim the lives of two Seattle men at Northwest resorts.

SKYKOMISH, Wash. — Two Seattle men died in separate skiing accidents last week at Northwest resorts, highlighting the risks that remain on the slopes even as spring approaches. 

Wayne Einfeld, a 74-year-old veteran skier, died March 13 at Stevens Pass after a fall on an intermediate run. His brother, Brad Einfeld, who was skiing with him at the time, said the accident occurred on their first run of the day.
