Katie Beden’s Pride flag was cut in half, but that only strengthened the fabric of her community.
SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash — Katie Beden moved to rural Sedro-Woolley to live in peace and harmony. She flies Pride flags, declaring her home a safe space for the marginalized in her community. But that safety was recently violated.
“Someone took a blade and sliced through each color on the (Pride) flag individually,” Beden recalled. “There was no beating around the bush what had happened.”
Beden posted about the vandalism on line. The response was immediate and emotional.
