The linguist said he found there are 20 names tribes have used in Washington associated with Mount Rainier.
TACOMA, Wash. — The Puyallup Tribe is working to learn more about the many native names of the mountain now known as Mount Rainier.
It is doing this with the hope of eventually restoring the original name of the mountain, or at least as close as they can to it.
