‘The stuff you see is horrific’: Coroners, medical examiners could qualify for PTSD treatment

Other first responders already qualify for state-funded treatment.

OLYMPIA, Wash. — Coroners and medical examiner investigators may get state-funded treatment for traumatic stress suffered at the workplace.

Firefighters and police officers already qualify for paid time off to seek treatment for posttraumatic stress disorder as an occupational disease under state law.

House Bill 1002 would expand the benefits to include coroner and medical examiner personnel.
