According to the Northwest Avalanche Center, three snowmobilers were riding near Harts Pass on Friday when they triggered a large slab avalanche.
SEATTLE — Officials are investigating after one person was killed and another was injured after an avalanche in the North Cascades National Park Friday.
According to the Northwest Avalanche Center, three snowmobilers were riding near Harts Pass when they triggered a large slab avalanche. Two of the riders were reportedly caught and carried with one of them getting fully buried and killed and the other being injured.
The Northwest Avalanche Center said it is working with local officials to investigate the incident.
