Shane Gillis returned to “Saturday Night Live” as a host for a second time on March 1. This time, the show did not open with him playing President Trump; James Austin Johnson, per usual, took over that role in a cold open recreating Trump vs. Zelenskyy.
After the opening, Gillis took the stage for a bit of his own stand-up routine. After poking fun of both Trump and former President Biden, he then compared liberals to famous villains in the “Star Wars” universe.
