Gregg Mesmer said his home and business have been without power for more than 24 hours following Monday’s storm.
BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, Wash. — After being without power for more than 24 hours on Bainbridge Island, Gregg Mesmer rejoiced when the lights came back on around 10 a.m. Thursday.
The excitement was short lived.
By late afternoon, utility workers were back in his neighborhood to repair a damaged telephone line, requiring the power to be turned off as crews worked.
“We got a pole that twisted, snapped right [where] the wires come together,” said Mesmer.
