Former UConn star won’t play for Dallas Wings next season

Lou Lopez Sénéchal won’t play for the Dallas Wings in the 2025 WNBA season. The former UConn star has elected to sit out the year, the team announced Monday.

Sénéchal was the Wings’ fifth overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft after averaging 15.5 points per game in her senior year season. That came after a four-year college career at Fairfield in which Sénéchal was the primary scoring option.

She missed the entire 2023 season recovering from injury, but returned in 2024 to make her WNBA debut. The 6’1 guard — who was the first Mexican-born player to be drafted into the WNBA — appeared in 27 games
