WA juvenile detention center residents testify against bill that could send them to adult prisons

The bill would allow the state to transfer individuals convicted of crimes as juveniles to prison after they reach the age of 21.

OLYMPIA, Wash. — The state might be allowed to transfer young men convicted of crimes as teenagers to serve the end of their sentences in adult prisons early.

Several proposals in the legislature would allow the Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) to send residents over the age of 21 to Department of Corrections facilities.
