Search and rescue crews responded to a report that an avalanche may have buried at least one person in Oregon’s central Cascade Mountains near a snowmobile trail.
BEND, Ore. — Two people are dead after an avalanche in central Oregon.
The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Unit recovered two bodies from the area, according to Sheriff Kent van der Kamp. It appears the backcountry skiers had been caught in the avalanche while recreating in the area of Trail 8.
