7-mile backup after fatal wrong-way crash on northbound SR 167 in Renton

A driver entered SR 167 going the wrong way and collided head-on with a semi-truck.

RENTON, Wash. — One person was killed in a wrong-way crash on northbound state Route 167 in Renton. 

The road was blocked for hours early Tuesday morning. It reopened around 8 a.m.

There was a seven-mile backup stemming from the crash, which extended back to state Route 516 in Kent.

The crash occurred at around 2:30 a.m. just south of the Interstate 405 interchange.
