YELM, Wash — Law enforcement agencies in Thurston County seized over 500 roosters bred for fighting during the execution of a warrant on a property in Yelm on Thursday.
The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) said during a search warrant at an unidentified location in “the Yelm area,” hundreds of roosters were seized along with “numerous neglected livestock animals” that were taken into protective care, according to a social media post.
No exact number of roosters was provided by officials, nor any additional information on what types of other animals were seized.
