In the first week of the emphasis, deputies wrote 124 citations. Some traffic stops led to arrests for DUIs and driving with a suspended license.
PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Deputies with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office are cracking down on drivers who break the law along Canyon Road.
The road is well-known to locals and deputies to be a place where people drive fast and recklessly.
“It is very dangerous, especially at night and in the mornings because people, all they do is speed on this road, I see people run red lights all the time,” said Manny Wallace, who drives on Canyon frequently.
