Shots fired at Seattle Public Schools building; cafeteria hit but no injuries reported

No students or staff members were injured in the shooting on 30th Avenue Southwest.

SEATTLE — A Seattle Public Schools building was hit by gunfire Monday afternoon.

According to SPS, the Roxhill building cafeteria was damaged when shots were fired from a car into the building, located at 9430 30th Avenue SW. Classes at the building were placed under lockdown, and all students and staff members were safe and uninjured. 

It is unclear exactly what led up to the shooting, but according to SPS, the Roxhill building was not the intended target.
