Family seeks answers after police shoot dog during assault case response

It all started around 6:50 p.m. on Feb 5. A woman parked at a church reported that a man threatened her with a gun.

LAKEWOOD, Wash. — A family’s dog is recovering after being shot by a Lakewood officer as police responded to reports of a man threatening a woman with a gun on Feb. 5.

“He was shot in his own home,” said Sina Tavila. “Like, how would you feel about that?”
