WA AG files lawsuit against Trump’s gender-affirming care executive order

SEATTLE — Washington state Attorney General Nick Brown filed a lawsuit Friday challenging President Trump’s executive order on gender-affirming care.

A week after his inauguration, Trump signed an executive order aimed at cutting federal support for gender-affirming medical treatments and surgeries for people under 19.

The order would financially target hospitals and universities that provide the care and receive federal funding. It also directs the Justice Department to investigate states that protect access to the care.
