Over 20,000 without power amid winter storm conditions in western Washington

Many schools around the region are also either starting late or canceling classes Thursday.

SEATTLE — Over 20,000 households were without power early Thursday morning as winter storm conditions continue to impact western Washington.

As of 6:35 a.m. Thursday, 21,227 Puget Sound Energy (PSE) households were without power, according to the company’s outage map. Further north, 3,113 Snohomish County Public Utilities District (PUD) customers were without power. Seattle City Light reported 3,893 outages as of 6:25 a.m.

By 9:30 a.m. Thursday, PSE was down to 12,304 households without power. Snohomish County PUD was down to 2,911 outages, and Seattle City Light had just 638
