Co-owner who helped sustain Seattle’s iconic lesbian bar, Wildrose, passes away

Shelley Brothers was “always there, always available, always ready with a warm smile,” the bar said in a statement on Facebook.

SEATTLE — Shelley Brothers, the co-owner of Seattle’s most iconic lesbian bar, Wildrose, has died, according to a statement the bar posted on Facebook. 

“A pillar of Seattle’s LGBTQIA+ community, Shelley was a force. An icon. And a protector. Her impact is immeasurable, and her absence leaves a void that can never truly be filled,” reads the statement.
