Street parking rates to increase in some Seattle neighborhoods

Some Seattleites may notice their parking bill begin to increase starting Wednesday, Feb. 17.

In a blog post, the Seattle Department of Transportation announced it would adjust paid parking rates in several areas of the city to help “improve customer access” to local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rates will go up to $1 or $1.50 per hour in parts of Ballard, Chinatown International District, Denny Triangle, First Hill, the Pike-Pine corridor and South Lake Union. Parking will remain $0.50 an hour at other times and locations.
