A new report accuses newly elected Sheriff Keith Swank of making “disrespectful” and “biased, inflammatory” social media posts when he was still working for SPD.

SEATTLE — The new Pierce County sheriff would have been fired from the Seattle Police Department (SPD) if he still worked there, according to a new disciplinary report by Seattle’s outgoing police chief. 

A disciplinary report, signed by former interim police chief Sue Rahr on Jan. 30, accuses newly elected Sheriff Keith Swank of making “disrespectful” and “biased, inflammatory” social media posts in 2023, when he was still working as a police captain for SPD.
