SEATTLE — The median asking rent in downtown Seattle grew for the first time in 17 months, according to a Redfin analysis, as experts wait to see the impact of Amazon’s return-to-office policy.

Redfin said apartment rents grew 2.5% year over year in December to a median rent of $2,000. Rents fell 36% to where they are today from a median rent of $3,118 in August 2022. Redfin attributed the fall in rent prices to an uptick in apartment construction.
