A previous sale of the Elwha was canceled after the buyer failed to tow it to South America.
SEATTLE — Nearly five months after a previous sale of the vessel was canceled, Washington State Ferries (WSF) has found a new buyer for one of its decommissioned ferries.
The Elwha was purchased by Everett Ship Repair for $100,000, WSF said in a release Thursday.
A tugboat was scheduled to arrive at the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal at 9 a.m. Thursday to begin to move the Elwha.
