OLYMPIA, Wash. — A new bill proposal would transform an Olympia college into a new University of Washington campus if passed.
Senate Bill 5424, proposed by Senate Republican leader John Braun, would “abolish” The Evergreen State College (TESC) and repurpose it as a UW Health Sciences campus.
In a release about the bill proposal, Braun says TESC’s full-time enrollment was the exact same in 2024 as it was in 1982 and has decreased by over 50% since 2009.
