Mercer Island community reacts as police identify suspects in school vandalism

Anti-semitic and racist symbols and phrases were plastered on Islander Middle School on New Year’s Eve.

MERCER ISLAND, Wash. — After asking for the public’s help, the Mercer Island Police Department has identified the two suspects accused of vandalizing a middle school with anti-semitic and racist phrases and symbols.

“To hear about not just vandalism but such vile vandalism that took place right here in my neighborhood is really hard,” Randy Kessler said.
