Seattle Theatre Group’s arts expansion offers hope amid cuts

Seattle Theatre Group has acquired the historic Kerry Hall from Cornish College of the Arts. With it, they plan to give more youth better access to arts education.

SEATTLE — Washington’s youth mental health crisis highlights the importance of healthy creative outlets for teens to express themselves. However, as school leaders across the state face budget deficits, arts programs or classes are being cut in districts such as Northshore and Edmonds.

While some offerings are shrinking, however, others are expanding.
