SEATTLE — Tuesday was the first chance for people to adopt pets from Los Angeles area shelters.
“We love animals up here,” Jillian Flahiff said. “We love dogs. We love cats. You’ll find your forever home up here and we’ll find them for you.”
That’s the goal for Seattle Humane. which just took in 39 dogs and 18 cats from L.A. shelters experiencing overcrowding in communities hit hard by destructive wildfires. The animals were flown in from Burbank Airport to Seattle’s Boeing Field Sunday evening and are now calling Seattle Humane their temporary home.
