Suspect accused of carjacking, killing beloved Seattle dog walker found competent to stand trial

SEATTLE — The man accused of a violent carjacking that left a beloved elderly dog walker dead earlier this year entered a not guilty plea in court Thursday.

Jahmed Haynes, 48, was found competent to stand trial after a mental health evaluation was completed Tuesday. 

In October, a King County judge found him not competent to stand trial and ordered him to fulfill the evaluation.
