SEATTLE — Dozens of Jewish community members braved the cold Thursday evening to gather in Ballard for the second night of Chanukah, an annual celebration of faith, resilience and light.
Rabbi Yoni Levitin, with Chabad of Northwest Seattle, led the menorah lighting, a tradition symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness. “The message is that a little bit of light can dispel a lot of darkness,” Levitin said. “The Jewish people should be proud of our heritage.”
