The annual fundraiser is trying to fill a need left by increasing demand for shelter space.
SEATTLE — A Seattle nonprofit working with women and families experiencing homelessness said the demand for shelter is among the highest it has seen in years.
An estimated 50-60 families call the intake line at Mary’s Place asking for help every day. But with all 560 shelter beds full, only a few families can get the help they need.
