Artist Hai Ying Wu is working on the statue of Billy Frank, Jr. in the garage of his Issaquah home.
ISSAQUAH, Wash. — By the end of 2025 Washington state is expected to have a new statue on display at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
The artist behind the bronze statue of Native American civil rights leader Billy Frank, Jr. said he’s in the final design stages.
“It’s more like fine tuning,” said artist Hai Ying Wu.
Wu is currently working on the 9 foot tall statue in the garage of his Issaquah home.
