The puppies were found to be malnourished, dehydrated and susceptible to hypothermia when they arrived at the Humane Society.
PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Six weeks-old puppies are now in the care of the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County after being found in “dire” condition following the death of their mother.
The Humane Society says the puppies were brought to the shelter by a community member. When they arrived, the puppies were malnourished, dehydrated and susceptible to hypothermia.
The veterinary team at Tacoma Humane gave the puppies IV fluids, parasite preventatives and warmth in a heated kennel to regulate temperatures.
