TACOMA, Wash. — A Tacoma woman is thanking the police department and crediting officers’ actions for her surviving a domestic violence incident in July and for rescuing her children.

The woman, Selena Loredo, is still recovering after her ex-boyfriend entered her home armed with a gun and refused to let her and her three children leave on July 21.
