List: Shelters, warming centers open for western WA residents without power

Several cities will open warming shelters on Thursday following the wind storm and widespread power outages.

REDMOND, Wash. — Several cities have opened shelters and warming centers for residents impacted by Tuesday night’s wind storm, which whipped winds across Puget Sound cities.

The storm caused widespread damage, knocking out power to hundreds of thousands of people, sending at least five people to the hospital in Seattle, and killing two women, one in Bellevue and another in Lynnwood.
