Man rescued from train tracks by Seattle police officers seconds before being hit

Police said the man fell about 25 feet and was unable to move himself away from the tracks.

SEATTLE — A Seattle police officer pulled a man off train tracks just seconds before he would have been struck in dramatic new body camera video.

The Seattle Police Department (SPD) said officers responded to a mental health crisis call for a man sitting high above train tracks near the 2nd Avenue exit and East Jackson Street on Oct. 7.

SPD said it requested all inbound trains in that area be stopped, but one train was already inbound.
