The annual showdown between UW and WSU will look and feel much different than in past years.
SEATTLE — The University of Washington and Washington State University football teams will meet Saturday for the 116th time, but the 2024 Apple Cup comes amid a completely new era of college football.
UW, along with three other former Pacific-12 Conference schools, departed for the Big Ten Conference in the offseason. WSU, meanwhile, was one of just two schools left in the once-proud Pac-12 entering this season. The Cougars and Oregon State will be joined by four new schools in 2026 as the conference attempts to rebuild itself.
