Kent man federally sentenced after selling fentanyl to clients of methadone clinic

Prosecutors say Muse targeted “vulnerable individuals” leaving a Seattle methadone clinic.

SEATTLE — A former Kent resident who targeted clients of a methadone clinic in Seattle for the sale of fentanyl was sentenced to a federal prison Monday.

Mohamed Aweys Muse, 37, was arrested in March 2023 after getting on the radar of law enforcement in late 2022. The release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office says records in the case show Muse was observed leaving a Kent apartment and selling fentanyl in the area of Airport Way South and South Holgate Street. There is a methadone clinic just a block away, according to the release.
