Seattle’s 2021 mayoral race got its newest candidate Wednesday: City Council President Lorena González.
A first generation Mexican American, González was born and raised as a migrant farmworker in Central Washington. In her campaign announcement, she expressed her desire to keep Seattle on a progressive path forward.
“I’m running for Mayor because I have hope and dreams for this city that I love where I have chosen to raise a family, and I know the hard work it takes to bring people together to get things done,” González said.
