Amazon Prime Video‘s “Young Sherlock” series has added Dónal Finn to its cast, Variety has learned exclusively.
Inspired by Andy Lane’s “Young Sherlock Holmes” novels, Finn has been cast in the role of James Moriarty, the notorious archnemesis of Sherlock Holmes. As previously announced, Holmes will be played by Hero Fiennes Tiffin.
The official description for “Young Sherlock” states, “At age 19, Sherlock Holmes is disgraced, raw, unfiltered, and unformed, when he finds himself caught up in a murder mystery at Oxford University which threatens his freedom.
