No local ZIP code was in the top 50, but western Washington was well represented on The Business Journal’s Wealthy 1000 list.
SEATTLE — Thirty-five different ZIP codes in the Seattle area were among the Wealthy 1000 in a list compiled by The Business Journal.
The 98101, which includes Pike Place Market and a good portion of the Seattle waterfront, is the region’s wealthiest and comes in at No. 51 in the country.
The Business Journal’s Wealthiest 1000 uses a weighted formula that looks at several different wealth metrics, including per capita income, typical home value, poverty rate, land area and population.
