The airline plans to begin service between Porto, one of Portugal’s largest cities, and Boston, New York City and Toronto in June 2024. Its fleet of Airbus A321neo aircraft will serve the routes. Azores Airlines will operate each of these routes once a week.
From the Azores, an autonomous group of islands in Portugal, Azores Airlines now offers flights to 11 locations in North America. After ceasing operations from Boston and Toronto to Lisbon in 2017, Azores Airlines will now offer transatlantic flights from mainland Portugal for the first time, Aviation Week reports.
